Douglas Lynch
Chief Actuary
Doug leads the Actuarial and Underwriting functions at Sidecar Health and is responsible for pricing, reserving and analytics for the company. Doug came to Sidecar Health from HCSC (the parent company of the Blue Cross Blue Shield plans in IL, TX, OK, MT and NM) where he served as Chief Actuary leading their Actuarial and Underwriting teams. In this role, he helped the company consistently and profitably grow at industry leading rates across nearly all segments of their business.
Prior to his time at HCSC, Doug served as the Chief Actuary of Florida Blue helping them to be one of the only plans to grow profitably in the early years of the ACA. Prior to that he served in multiple actuarial leadership roles for Florida Blue and American General Financial Group.
Doug is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries and is a member of the American Academy of Actuaries. He received his B.S. in Actuarial Science from New Jersey Institute of Technology. When not working, Doug spends much of his time traveling with his family and trying out as many different restaurants as he can.
