Step-by-Step Guide for Working with Sidecar Health Patients

Sidecar Health is an employer-sponsored major medical plan that gives patients and providers more control over care and costs — without the usual red tape.

Step 1: Before the visit

Sidecar Health members shop for care, compare pricing and quality, and manage their benefits directly in the Sidecar Health app.

 

Step 2: Fast, Easy Payment

Members use a Sidecar Health Visa to pay directly for care.

You can charge the patient before or after the visit — whatever works best for your workflow — and they will pay you in full.

If your organization offers additional discounts for prompt payment in full at the time of service, you’re welcome to apply them when you collect payment.

If you believe your organization may have a direct billing agreement with Sidecar Health, or you need help confirming details, contact us and we’ll assist.

 

Step 3: Deliver Care

Deliver care without having to worry about insurance hurdles or approval requirements.
Sidecar Health does not require prior authorization, step therapy, formularies, or restrictive medical management programs.

 

Step 4: Provide an itemized invoice

Give the patient an itemized medical invoice that includes: 

  • Patient's full name
  • Provider name, address, and NPI
  • Date(s) of service
  • CPT/HCPCS codes with charges
