About Sidecar Health

Our Story
In 2018, co-founders Patrick Quigley and Veronica Osetinsky set out to create a better health insurance model with transparent pricing, open access, and stable costs. Their goal: bring common sense back to healthcare by showing prices upfront and letting people shop for care just like they do any other purchase.
We started with an excepted benefits plan that proved people could shop for care, compare prices, and pay providers directly. Though it was a supplemental product, it showed that our model worked and paved the way for something bigger.
In 2021, we took the next step and established our own insurance carrier so we could underwrite new products ourselves. That year, we launched ACA-compliant major medical plans for individuals in Ohio.
As we grew, we phased out the individual insurance offering and shifted our focus to employer-sponsored coverage. Today, we exclusively offer ACA-compliant major medical plans for large employers - both fully insured and administrative services only (ASO) for self-funded employers - giving companies and their employees a more cost-effective benefit that removes surprises, puts members in control, and eliminates barriers to care.
From day one, our mission has been to make quality healthcare affordable and accessible for all. That's the blueprint we're still following today.
