Stuart Battersby

Stuart Battersby

Chief Financial Officer

Stuart came to Sidecar Health from Amerigroup Washington, a fully owned subsidiary of Anthem. During his time at Amerigroup, Stuart served as CFO and COO before becoming President of their Washington Medicaid health plan. In these roles, Stuart helped Amerigroup Washington become a statewide health plan serving every region in the state and implemented the only social supports program offering housing and employment services to Washington’s most vulnerable populations. The number of Amerigroup’s covered lives quadrupled under Stuart’s direction.

He also spearheaded the transformation of Washington’s healthcare system by collaborating with the provider community to integrate behavioral and physical health services, which generated better outcomes and lower total costs of care.

Prior to his roles at Amerigroup, Stuart was the Controller at Siemens Healthcare, which was preceded by roles at HCA Physician Services, Star Northwest, and Burton Foods.

Stuart received his CPA certification from the Washington Board of Accountancy in 2006. He received his MBA from the University of Denver, and his B.S. in Economics from the University of Wales, Cardiff.

Outside of work, Stuart spends most of his time cheering on the sidelines of 5th, 4th or 2nd grade basketball games.
